This Former Toronto FC Player Has a New Team

Following a notable period with Toronto FC, this forward has moved on to a new team. Despite showing promise, he struggled to find his role with Toronto FC and ultimately needed to leave in order to secure more playing time and find an environment where he feels at ease and can further develop his career.

At just 23 years old, he had a substantial tenure with Toronto FC and was regarded as one of the team’s top prospects. However, he was unable to fully achieve his potential during his time with the club.

Jordan Perruzza, a 23-year-old Canadian, has signed with Real Monarchs, a third-division U.S. team competing in MLS Next Pro. He aims to find a stable role within the squad, secure a starting spot, and fully realize his potential—goals he had hoped to achieve during his time with Toronto FC.

Perruzza joined Toronto FC in 2018 after an impressive season with Toronto FC II, where he appeared in 28 matches, netting 17 goals and adding 2 assists. With over 1,800 minutes played, he was seen as a promising future for the club’s forward line. However, the promise he showed that season did not fully translate when he moved up to the first team, where his performance fell short of expectations.

Jordan Perruzza played only 30 matches with Toronto FC’s first team, where he scored just one goal and added one assist. This underwhelming performance contributed to his departure from the club.

With a fresh start at Real Monarchs, Perruzza is hopeful for a more successful chapter in his career. At 23, he still has ample time to develop his skills and could potentially make a return to an MLS team in the future.
