SHOCKING: Houston Astros Two Time All-Star Ready To Re Sign on Six Year Deal

The season for the Houston Astros is done. They were swept, but they made sure to emphasize how much they want Alex Bregman back next year, even how difficult that is for some guys on the squad.

Despite his little slowdown during the season, Bregman’s contributions to the Astros organization for the most of the previous ten years cannot be overlooked. Their success can be largely attributed to him.

The New Mexico native has been one of the premier third basemen in baseball during his tenure with the team, and if the Astros let him go, they would face a significant gap.

As seen in the postseason and throughout the season, the lower half of their lineup struggled, and losing Bregman would only complicate matters further.

Despite mixed reports about his future, the latest prediction from Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report offers optimism for Astros fans hoping to see the slugger remain in Houston. Tansey forecasts that Bregman will sign a six-year deal to return to the team and mentions other potential suitors for the two-time World Series champion.

“Bregman can still be a valuable asset for the Astros, but Houston will need to invest heavily for a new contract. Matt Chapman set a new benchmark for third basemen with his six-year, $151 million deal with the San Francisco Giants before the end of the regular season. The Astros should aim to finalize a deal, but if Bregman moves on, teams like the Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, or Toronto Blue Jays could be strong candidates to add more power to their lineups.”

Given the number of teams interested in his skills, Bregman is likely to be one of the most sought-after free agents this offseason. However, recent trends in free agency show that things don’t always go as expected.

While it currently seems unlikely, there’s a possibility that Bregman could opt for a one-year deal to maximize his earnings in the 2025-26 offseason.

This scenario shouldn’t be a consideration given his impressive career, marked by a 132 OPS+ over nine seasons, but a slow start to the current season might raise concerns for some teams.

Ultimately, the Astros should prioritize maintaining their relationship with Bregman in their quest for another World Series title.
