Rich Hill has officially arrived at the Worcester facility. Although there’s no set schedule for his return, he completed his first bullpen session with the WooSox yesterday. He’ll be traveling with the team this week, but it’s unclear when he’ll make his debut in a game or how long it will take before he rejoins the major league squad. At this point, we can’t predict his level of effectiveness, but it’s probably too late to be particular about it. (Julian McWilliams, Boston Globe)
So how critical is the situation? With just 39 games remaining and the Red Sox further from a playoff spot than they were a week ago, it’s clear they can’t just tread water anymore.
