The Roberto Clemente Award is given each year to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of baseball through exceptional character, community engagement, philanthropy, and positive impact both on and off the field.
Each MLB team nominates one player annually for this award, honoring Clemente’s legacy and values. This year’s nominees are recognized for their extensive community and charitable work, addressing a wide range of issues. These include raising awareness and funds for cancer and other illnesses, supporting education for youth, aiding natural disaster relief efforts, reaching out to underserved communities both in the U.S. and internationally, among other significant causes.
