Manchester United currently have Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee for their striker role, yet they continue to be linked with new forwards. It raises the question of why the club would seek another striker when they already seem well-equipped in that position.
Given their recent transfer history, where they’ve made questionable decisions, pursuing another striker might be seen as a mistake. The Red Devils reportedly have an interest in Brighton & Hove Albion’s young star, Evan Ferguson, who has been a target for some time. According to the Daily Star, Manchester United is preparing to make a low offer of around £50 million for Ferguson, while Brighton’s valuation is set at £100 million.
There are concerns that Chelsea might outmaneuver Manchester United for the 19-year-old if they don’t act quickly. However, with United’s offer significantly below Brighton’s asking price, it’s unlikely the Seagulls will consider it. Brighton, known for their strong financial management, usually sells players for more than they buy and may not budge from their valuation.
Given the recent investments in strikers and other pressing needs, it seems impractical for Manchester United to pursue this transfer. The club should consider addressing other areas of their squad with more feasible options.
