INJURY UPDATE: Good news for the Broncos as another huge injury break down for the Buccaneers

The Denver Broncos are eager to secure their first win of the 2024 NFL Season. Can they achieve it in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? At some point, the offense has to start showing improvement, right? It’s not Sean Payton’s fault; he took over a difficult situation in Denver. The team was lacking valuable draft picks and had a quarterback tied to a bad contract.

Payton did his best in 2023 with Russell Wilson, but it was clear that partnership wasn’t going to succeed. Regardless, the Broncos have been making the most of their limited resources this offseason. To begin winning, they might need a few lucky breaks, and the Buccaneers’ injury report on Friday could provide the opportunity they need.

The Buccaneers may be missing four starters: Antoine Winfield Jr., Calijah Kancey,Luke Goedeke,  and Vita Vea. The absence of Kancey and Vea would significantly weaken the Bucs’ defensive line, their strongest asset. This situation could provide the Denver Broncos with a valuable chance to establish their run game, which could be crucial for securing a victory.

In some cases, NFL games can hinge on which team is healthier. While it may seem unfair, that’s often how the league operates. For instance, the Los Angeles Rams are already facing severe injuries, making their season feel nearly over after just two weeks. Fortunately for the Broncos, they’ve remained relatively healthy since the start of the 2023 NFL Season.

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey is on IR, and they’ll also be missing Baron Browning and JL Skinner on Sunday, but that’s the extent of their injury issues. The new training and recovery staff brought in by Sean Payton appears to be effective, which is a crucial and often overlooked aspect of a successful NFL team.

If we want to be optimistic, the special teams unit continues to perform well, and the defense is clearly improving compared to 2023. What Denver really needs to complete the puzzle is a functioning offense. Perhaps Week 3 will be the moment things start to click for them. Many knowledgeable NFL analysts have pointed out that Bo Nix and Sean Payton could be a great fit, so it would be exciting to see that potential come to life as the Broncos chase their first win of the 2024 season.
