It looks like Olson (shoulder) will be activated off the 15-day injury list to play against the Royals on Monday.
According to earlier rumors, the 25-year-old was expected to make a return early this week in Kansas City. Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize have been named the likely starting for Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s games, respectively. Although Olson looks ready to return after missing almost two months due to a shoulder ailment, Detroit hasn’t formally announced a starting for Monday. Olson could have a light workload if he takes the mound for Detroit on Monday. He has already made two rehab starts and most recently threw three scoreless innings on 45 pitches for Triple-A Toledo this past Tuesday.
