After three standout years at Michigan, tight end Colston Loveland is heading to the professional level.
On Friday afternoon, Loveland announced his decision to enter the NFL draft via an Instagram post. The Washington-born, Idaho-raised tight end is widely projected to be among the top prospects at his position in April’s draft.
“As I embark on this next chapter of my career, I will forever carry a part of this university with me and continue to represent Michigan with pride,” Loveland shared in his post. “Go Blue!”
After catching 16 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns during the 2022 season, Loveland had a breakout year in 2023, tallying 45 receptions for 649 yards and four touchdowns, playing a key role in Michigan’s national championship win.
Although injuries impacted his 2024 season, Loveland still recorded a career-high 112 yards on seven catches in Michigan’s 38–17 loss to No. 1 Oregon on Nov. 2.
Beyond his statistics, Loveland’s versatility and skill set make him an exciting prospect for any team selecting him in April.
