BREAKING: Yankees’ $162 million man finally turning the corner and cementing his place in postseason rotation

Left-hander Carlos Rodon of the New York Yankees had a 4.63 ERA after July 14 after giving up two runs in four innings against the Baltimore Orioles. After a terrific start to the season, everyone was talking about how the $162 million man for the Yanks had turned back into a pumpkin.

Rodon has experienced criticism before. It came in plenty last year for him. The man put in a lot of effort, maintained his physical fitness, and let time and the outcomes speak for themselves. He recognized that skill and a strong work ethic would almost always win out, so he developed a plan.

After a few months, it’s safe to say that Rodon has improved his season thanks to an outstanding September and second half. Rodon is now a reliable starter for the Yankees, and with his current form, he should be a force in the postseason.

The top lefty for the Yankees has a 3.98 ERA and 190 strikeouts in 169.2 innings pitched so far this season. In addition, he pitches like a top-of-the-rotation starter and has a 16-9 record.

Rodon has a 7-2 record, an outstanding 2.87 ERA in 62.2 innings, with 78 strikeouts in the second half. The southpaw has produced a stellar 1.93 ERA in his previous four appearances, all in September, with 29 strikeouts in 23.1 innings. Although he has recently done a fantastic job of restricting baserunners, he is still somewhat of a homer. This helps to mitigate the damage.
