Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs was back at practice on Wednesday after completing a one-game suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team,” according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. The suspension was a result of Doubs missing two practices and team meetings last Thursday and Friday. Even without him, the Packers won 24-19 against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
Reports suggested that Doubs was frustrated with his role in the Packers’ passing game, but after a meeting with head coach Matt LaFleur on Monday, it seems both sides are ready to move on. Doubs’ return is timely as the Packers gear up for their Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
“Romeo Doubs is back at practice after missing last Thursday and Friday leading up to his one-game suspension. Christian Watson is also practicing for the first time since his ankle injury in Week 4. Devonte Wyatt is the only player not participating in practice for the Packers today.
“Yeah, I’m looking forward to our conversation tomorrow, so I fully anticipate him coming back and I’m hopeful that he will come back and get ready to work,” LaFleur said. He stressed the importance of staying focused, adding, “Distractions happen in the National Football League, distractions happen in life, and you have got to do your best to just focus on the task at hand, and I thought our guys did a pretty good job of that.
After meeting with Doubs, LaFleur confirmed that they addressed the issue and are ready to move on.
“What’s done is done, and we’re moving forward,” LaFleur said, stressing the importance of staying positive as the Packers continue their season.
On Wednesday, Doubs fully participated in receiver drills during practice, going second in line behind Christian Watson. His reintegration into the team’s routine shows he is back and prepared to contribute.
With Doubs returning, the Packers are now focused on their Week 6 matchup against the Cardinals. His role in the offense will be crucial as Green Bay looks to build on their win over the Rams and improve their position in the NFC standings.
