BREAKING NEWS: Two Alabama injured starters are back with the team

Alabama football faces Georgia on Saturday, and it appears that two of its injured starters will be available. The SEC released the Crimson Tide’s first availability report of the week, and neither Malachi Moore or Cole Adams were mentioned.

Moore returned to practice last week, when the Tide had a bye following their game against Wisconsin on September 14. DeBoer confirmed this on Monday. Moore had been undergoing concussion treatments following a head injury.

During his Wednesday interview on the ‘Hey Coach’ radio show, DeBoer confirmed Moore’s return for the game against Georgia.

“He’ll be back,” the coach replied when a caller enquired about the fifth-year senior’s situation.

Adams had an arm injury that appeared severe on television during the South Florida game. He missed the trip to Wisconsin, but DeBoer has recently expressed renewed optimism about his recovery.

On Wednesday, the program shared a snapshot of Adams during practice. The redshirt freshman wideout had a brace on his right elbow but was not wearing a black jersey, which indicates non-contact athletes.

DeBoer spoke with “Hey Coach” host and Crimson Tide football play-by-play announcer Chris Stewart about potential punt returners for Saturday’s game. Stewart noted the health of Adams, along with Jaylen Mbakwe and Ryan Williams as candidates.

“It’ll be a committee approach back there, and I expect all those guys to be ready to go,” DeBoer said. “It really depends on the game situation. Sometimes it comes down to who was on the field last or if we need an offensive player, as well as the game’s flow and who’s performing well. We have confidence in all of them, including Germie Bernard.”

The Tide must release availability reports daily starting Wednesday of SEC game weeks, with final player status disclosed before kickoff.

Alabama and Georgia are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
