With the Minor League Baseball regular season wrapped up, it’s time to recognize standout prospects from 2024. The Boston Red Sox showcased several promising players, with three making headlines.
Baseball America announced its All-Star teams on Monday, featuring outfielder Roman Anthony, infielder Kristian Campbell, and outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia.
Anthony bounced back from a slow start, delivering powerful performances throughout the season. He ended the year between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester, boasting a .291/.396/.498 batting line with 18 home runs and an .894 OPS. Recently, he received high praise from Baseball America, rising to the top prospect spot in baseball after Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero’s graduation.
In an exclusive interview with NESN.com, Anthony shared his thoughts on this recognition and reflected on a promising year for his development within the Red Sox organization.
Campbell emerged as a standout in 2024, capturing national attention with impressive stats at the plate. He moved through three levels of the minors for the Red Sox, finishing with a .330/.439/.558 line, 20 home runs, and a .997 OPS. Campbell also spoke with NESN.com about his pivotal year, which could pave the way for a spot in Boston’s starting lineup in 2025.
Garcia, who plays in the Boston system alongside his brother Johanfran, made the leap to Double-A after hitting 16 home runs in just 48 games with High-A Greenville. Although the Red Sox have a deep pool of outfielders, Garcia remains an intriguing prospect—especially with his nickname, “The Password,” adding to his appeal.
