BREAKING NEWS: Red Sox Make Three Roster Changes, Sending Super Star To Worcester

BOSTON — The Red Sox executed three roster moves between games on Monday, which included sending right-hander Josh Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester.

Additionally, the team reinstated right-handed reliever Justin Slaten from the 15-day injured list and named lefty reliever Bailey Horn as their 27th man for the second game of the doubleheader.

The Red Sox are set to face the Blue Jays at 7:10 p.m. at Fenway Park. Earlier in the day, Boston lost 4-1 to Toronto in a resumption of the game suspended from June 26.

Winckowski pitched the ninth inning in the first game, retiring all three batters he faced with groundouts. This season, the 26-year-old has had a tough time, holding a 4.37 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and a .275 batting average against over 30 appearances (59 ⅔ innings).

Slaten, who had been on the injured list due to right elbow inflammation, returns after missing 41 games. The 26-year-old has posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a .220 batting average against in 31 appearances (42 ⅔ innings) as a Rule 5 Draft rookie.

Horn has struggled this season, recording a 6.48 ERA in 14 appearances (16 ⅔ innings) for Boston.
