Josh Jacobs has been a welcome addition to the Green Bay Packers after signing a four-year, $48 million free agent deal in March. The All-Pro running back is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and has racked up 89- scrimmage yards and four touchdowns in nine games entering Sunday. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports that Josh Jacobs’ Week 3 fine of $45,020 has been completely overturned by the league. “The fine has been fully rescinded, according to Jacobs’ agent Chad Wiestling,” Pelissero shared on X. This marks the second consecutive year Jacobs has successfully appealed a fine for helmet use, with a third fine also being reduced.
In 2023, Josh Jacobs was fined over $43,000 for two separate use-of-helmet violations, which drew increased attention from the NFL as the 2024 season approached. In early September, Jacobs was included in a league memo sent to more than 20 players, warning them about the consequences of future safety infractions. “The NFL issued a memo to over 20 players and their respective teams, stressing the importance of safety and sportsmanship, and warning that any future violations could lead to suspensions,” NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on September 8. Jacobs and his team are on a bye week this Sunday, but they will return to action in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears, a division rival.
