BREAKING NEWS: Bengals Star Appears on Injury Report With Significant Ailment

Chase is categorized as limited during Wednesday’s practice. Chase’s injury report listing is simply an estimate, as the Bengals are only conducting walkthroughs two days after their loss to the Washington Commanders.

It’s all precautionary, and Chase is expected to be ready for the Bengals’ Week 4 game. He just had his best performance of the season on Monday, with six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 19.7 yards per reception.

Despite the Bengals losing, their offense showed promise and resembled the strong unit everyone anticipated, led by quarterback Joe Burrow. While Chase’s injury isn’t serious, the Bengals’ 0-3 record is concerning.

They’ve struggled early in the season, and this slow start could be problematic in the long run. Chase isn’t the only one dealing with injuries; defensive end Trey Hendrickson (illness), defensive tackle B.J. Hill (hamstring), tight end Tanner Hudson (knee), and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) all missed practice.

Right tackle Trent Brown, who suffered a torn patellar tendon, has been ruled out for the season after being carted off during the loss to the Commanders. Although Brown is expected to recover fully, his history of injuries and one-year, $4.75 million contract signed in March complicate matters. Offensive lineman Amarius Mims, a first-round draft pick this year, is anticipated to play a significant role on the line moving forward.

The Bengals’ season hasn’t gone as hoped, but with Burrow and Chase healthy, they still have the potential to succeed. This team boasts immense talent, with everything relying on this quarterback-wide receiver duo. Earlier this month, Chase mentioned he isn’t looking to negotiate a long-term deal this season, so discussions with the Bengals are paused, possibly until the season’s end. Chase is betting on himself and aims to secure a lucrative contract, whether with Cincinnati or elsewhere.
