BREAKING NEWS: Another Injury Blow For The Bears

The Bears’ Tyson Bagent, Brett Rypien, and Austin Reed have all performed impressively during the preseason, making roster decisions challenging for coach Matt Eberflus.

CHICAGO (AP)  Bears cornerback Douglas Coleman III was discharged from a Kansas City hospital and returned to Chicago on Friday after sustaining an injury while tackling during a preseason game against the Chiefs.

“He was walking around, Bears coach Matt Eberflus told Chicago radio station WSCR “670 The Score. I spoke with him. He’s in good spirits.

Coleman was initially immobilized on a stretcher and transported by ambulance from Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night after making a tackle on the Chiefs’ Cornell Powell at the start of the second half.

The 26 year old Coleman had his head up while making the tackle near the Chiefs’ sideline, but his neck twisted awkwardly, causing him to fall upon impact. Coleman lay still as trainers from both teams, along with doctors and a medical cart, rushed to his aid.

He was able to move his limbs as medical staff removed his facemask and secured him to a backboard. Coleman was then carted off the field and taken to the tunnel.

The Bears eventually won their preseason finale 34-21.
