BREAKING NEWS: Aaron Boone Provides An Update On The New York Yankees Starting Pitcher’s Anticipated Return

Manager Aaron Boone stated on September 16 that pitcher Josh Poteet is “really close” to making a comeback to the major leagues, noting that the pitcher is “almost built up completely and is certainly in those conversations.

Poteet has been rehabbing with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after three appearances with Double-A Somerset. On September 11 at Lehigh Valley, he pitched four innings of one-run ball. He made his second Triple-A start during his rehabilitation with that 64-pitch outing.

Brian Cashman, general manager of the Yankees, has stated that the team anticipates Poteet to be a possible depth player by the end of the season. On June 12th, Poteet made his Major League debut against Kansas City. (Updated as of September 14)
