BREAKING: New York Yankees Manager Aaron Boone Unexpectedly comment On Decision Subtly Criticizing His Rivals

This past weekend, there was some controversy surrounding the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In apparent reprisal for Yankees starter Gerrit Cole hitting and purposefully walking Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers in back-to-back at-bats, the Red Sox appeared to pitch at Yankees slugger Aaron Judge on Saturday.

It was closed yesterday around the sixth inning,  Cora said after the game, seeming to imply that the Red Sox were attempting to purposely hit Judge. Our opportunity was here. That was not the case. Subsequently, Major League Baseball opened an inquiry into Cora’s and the Red Sox’s possible deliberate hitting of Judge.

MLB chose not to discipline Cora, and ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners, Yankees manager Aaron Boone commented on that decision, subtly criticizing his rivals.

“I feel like we’re past this weekend,” Boone stated. “Chances are, we’re not going to face them again this year. We have too many important things ahead to get caught up in that.

Boone is spot on. After the Red Sox lost three out of four to the Yankees and suffered another defeat on Tuesday, they now find themselves five games behind the Minnesota Twins for the last American League Wild Card spot. Rather than fueling the rivalry, Boone is choosing to focus on his team’s success and playoff hopes.
