The Michigan Wolverines have successfully secured a transfer from Alabama, landing former 5-star running back Justice Haynes. Haynes, who entered the transfer portal, has decided to leave the Crimson Tide and join the Wolverines, as reported on Tuesday.
This season, Haynes was Alabama’s third-leading rusher, following quarterback Jalen Milroe and running back Jamarion Miller. He totaled 448 yards and 7 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 5.7 yards per carry.
Although Michigan recruited and offered Haynes a scholarship during his high school years, he only visited Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, and Alabama at the time.
Looking ahead, the Wolverines are set to feature a formidable backfield in 2025, with Haynes potentially leading the running game and top quarterback recruit Bryce Underwood likely securing the starting quarterback role.
With Michigan’s leading rusher, Kalel Mullings, finishing his fifth season and second-leading rusher Donovan Edwards wrapping up his fourth, Haynes will have a clear opportunity to earn significant playing time.
