On Sunday, one of the Dallas Cowboys’ starting wide receivers won’t be available. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brandin Cooks was placed on injured reserve on Saturday.
Due to a knee injury, Cooks will miss at least the next four games for the team. The squad’s challenging schedule includes games against the Detroit Lions (3-1), Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1), San Francisco 49ers (2-2), and Atlanta Falcons (3-2).
The 11-year veteran’s 2024 campaign got off to a slow start, as he only managed 91 yards and one touchdown in four games. However, since his arrival in 2023, he has been an integral part of the Dallas offense.

Cooks finished third on the club last season with 657 yards and eight touchdowns, behind only tight end Jake Ferguson and standout wide out CeeDee Lamb, who inked a lucrative extension in August.
Regarding Dallas’ potential acquisition of Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who made a trade request on Tuesday, there has been conjecture. Adams is said to have considered heading to the Cowboys as one of his acceptable new teams.
Son of team owner Jerry Jones, senior vice president Stephen Jones, put a stop to that rumor on Thursday, telling San Antonio’s Sports Star that a trade for Adams would be “a long putt.”
Jones’ father was certain in April that the team would be going “all-in” this season, cap scenario or not. Adams’s candidacy would undoubtedly strengthen that maxim.
If Cooks is placed on injured reserve ahead of a stretch of games in which Dallas could go 0–4, it might be necessary to spend a lot of money to maintain championship hopes.
