The Denver Broncos have promoted two players from the practice squad to their game-day roster for the Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Tuesday the Broncos called up running back Tyler Badie and defensive back Tanner McCalister. Both players will return to the practice squad on Monday.
Teams can elevate players up to three times during the season without them needing to clear waivers to return. This is Badie’s second elevation this season, while it’s McCalister’s first.
Badie will act as the No. 3 running back behind Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin, while McCalister will add depth at safety and likely contribute on special teams in place of the injured JL Skinner.
The Broncos’ game against the Buccaneers will be regionally broadcast on Fox, and fans in the area Denver is entering Week 3 as a road underdog.
