BREAKING: The 27 years old Star injury is updated by the Red Sox manager

Rafael Devers received a noteworthy update on Saturday from Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora.

Devers will miss the remainder of the season after being placed on the disabled list with inflammation in his shoulder. After feeling worse on Friday, the 27-year-old had MRIs on both of his shoulders on Saturday. With just eight games remaining, including this Saturday, Boston’s season is over due to Devers’ IL stint.

Due to a shoulder injury, Devers lost time in August. In his last four games, he was just 1/15 with 11 strikeouts, suggesting he was experiencing major issues.

When healthy, one of the league’s top offensive third basemen is none other than three-time All-Star Devers. Thus, it’s obvious that his play was suffering from his illness.

At the end of the season, Devers hits.272, with a.871 OPS, 34 doubles, and 28 home runs. Boston was 76-78 going into play on Saturday, meaning their chances of making the postseason are quite thin.
