There had been concerns he might miss the entire season, but he could potentially return by late October or early November. In the meantime, the Chiefs have signed Kareem Hunt to their practice squad and added Keaontay Ingram to the active roster for their Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football.

The team has a solid group of running backs to help manage Pacheco’s absence. He’s a key player for the offense, having recorded 409 carries for 1,900 yards and 13 touchdowns, along with 428 receiving yards over his 33 games in Kansas City.

With head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way, the Chiefs are expected to maintain their offensive effectiveness despite Pacheco’s injury, starting this Sunday. Even without Pacheco, the Chiefs are 3.5-point favorites against the Falcons.
