The first two weeks of the NFL season are in the books and teams around the NFL are preparing for the Week 3 slate of games.
The Packers are 1-1 as they are going on the road to play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Even though their focus is on that, former players are looking to find new jobs in the NFL.
And on Tuesday, an ex-Packer kicker has landed an opportunity with the New York Giants.
The New York Giants are signing kicker Greg Joseph to the active roster from the Detroit Lions practice squad per his agent Brett Tessler.
The New York Giants are signing my client Greg Joseph to their active roster from the Detroit Lions p-squad. 7-yr vet kicked for the Vikings the past 3 seasons and holds NFL record for game-winners in a season (5), Vikings record for longest FG (61 yds), & led NFL in TB% in '21.

This summer, Joseph was a member of the Packers, where he faced competition from Anders Carlson for the starting kicker position. Despite Joseph’s 3-of-4 field goal performance in the preseason, the Packers nevertheless chose to cut Carlson and Joseph. After Brayden Narveson was claimed off waivers, he started the first two weeks of the season.
After Graham Gano suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 and is now anticipated to miss a few weeks, the Giants were on the market for a kicker.
Joseph has played for the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Minnesota Vikings throughout his five-year career. He’s made 100 out of 121 field goal attempts and 146 out of 162 (90.1%) extra point tries. Additionally, Joseph’s touchback rate is 71%.
