The delay has ended. The 2024–2025 New York Rangers have revealed their training camp roster and itinerary.
On September 18, players will report for off-ice testing. On Thursday, September 19, the club will practice on the ice for the first time at the MSG Training Center in Tarrytown. Six preseason games are scheduled for September 22 at BOS (5:00 PM ET), September 24 vs. NYI (7:00 PM ET), September 26 vs. BOS (7:00 PM ET), September 30 at NJD (7:00 PM ET), October 1 vs. NJD (7:00 PM ET), and October 4 at NYI (7:00 PM ET). Training Camp will last until Sunday, October 6.
This season, the Rangers welcomed 63 players—36 forwards and 21 defensemen—to training camp.

Notable participants in camp include Brett Berard, Adam Estrom, Brennan Othmann, Matt Rempe, Mathew Robertson, and Adam Sykora. Reilly Smith and Sam Carrick, both acquired in July, will be joining the camp for the first time as Rangers.
Carrick, 32, scored 10 goals and added six assists for 16 points in 77 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks. Over his career, he has accumulated 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 points in 240 NHL games with the Oilers, Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Smith, 33, recorded 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points in 76 games with the Penguins in the 2023-24 season. With a career spanning parts of 13 NHL seasons, Smith has played for the Penguins, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Vegas Golden Knights, amassing 513 points (213 goals, 300 assists) in 840 regular-season games.
