The Kansas City Chiefs are riding high after their impressive victories over the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals to kick off the 2024 season. However, Monday morning brought some concerning injury news. NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported that running back Isiah Pacheco sustained a fractured fibula during Sunday’s game, which could sideline him for an extended period. Pacheco is expected to be placed on Injured Reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four weeks and possibly more.

During the game against the Bengals, Pacheco’s injury happened when he was caught under a pile of players after being rolled up on. You can see the play in this video.
Pacheco has contributed significantly to the Chiefs’ offense this season. On Sunday, he had 19 rushes for 90 yards, bringing his season total to 135 yards and one touchdown. With Pacheco out for at least a few weeks, Kansas City will rely on Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to handle the weight in the backfield.
