Aaron Judge hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning, making him the fastest player in Major League Baseball history to hit 300 career home runs. His achievement helped the New York Yankees secure a 10-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Judge reached this milestone in his 955th regular-season game, just one day after the eighth anniversary of his MLB debut, surpassing the previous record held by Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, who reached 300 home runs in 1,087 games.
Judge became the 162nd player in MLB history to hit 300 home runs and the 17th to do so while playing for the Yankees. Gavin Sheets hit his first home run since June 8 and also added an RBI single, but the White Sox fell short in their attempt to win the three-game series. Chicago’s last series win was when they took two of three games at home against the Colorado Rockies from June 28-30. In other action, the Reds defeated the Cardinals 9-2.
Jonathan India and TJ Friedl both hit two home runs to lead Cincinnati in a three-game sweep of the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. Brewers 5, Dodgers 4
Milwaukee took advantage of sloppy fielding to score four unearned runs and secure a comeback win over visiting Los Angeles, ending the Dodgers’ five-game winning streak. Despite managing only four hits, the Brewers went ahead 5-4 in the seventh inning when Joey Ortiz was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice, and then scored when Jackson Chourio’s bloop single was misplayed by right fielder Mookie Betts into a run-scoring error.
