BREAKING: Arizona Cardinals’ Super Star suspended for first 5 games.

The Arizona Cardinals will begin the 2024 NFL season without new wide receiver Zay Jones, who has been suspended for the first five games due to a breach of the league’s personal conduct policy. This suspension stems from a domestic abuse allegation from November 2023, when Jones was arrested for allegedly harming the mother of his child. Although the NFL chose not to pursue charges after their investigation earlier this year, they have still imposed this disciplinary measure.

Jones, an eight-year NFL veteran, played two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Cardinals in the summer. Jones participated in nine Jaguars games in 2023, hauling in 34 receptions for 321 yards and two scores.

Although Zay Jones was expected to serve as a backup behind receiver Zay Jones and Michael Wilson 2024 first-round draft pick Marvin Harrison Jr., his absence raises some uncertainty for the Cardinals’ receiving corps as the season approaches.

The Cardinals are set to begin their season on September 8 against the Buffalo Bills. Jones will miss this game as well as subsequent matchups against the Rams, Lions, Commanders, and 49ers.
