The Philadelphia Eagles are enjoying a stellar 2024 season, sitting at 11-2 as they head into Week 15, having already secured a playoff spot in the NFC. However, not everything is running smoothly within the organization. Reports indicate rising tension between quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers expressed disbelief over the Eagles’ internal issues, suggesting an unconventional solution. During his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Rodgers commented:
“Receivers always want the ball, and quarterbacks are doing their best to get it to them, but come on, they’re 11-2. They need to figure it out because winning in this league is tough,” he said. “They’ve won 11 games already. Maybe stop being at each other’s throats. Honestly, they could use a veteran presence who isn’t afraid to sit them down and say, ‘You shut the f—k up, you shut the f—k up, and here’s how we fix this.’”
Rodgers’ reaction is understandable given the Jets’ struggles this season, with a dismal 3-10 record. The Jets would certainly trade places with the Eagles in a heartbeat.
The source of the Eagles’ tension seems to be comments A.J. Brown made following Sunday’s victory over the Panthers. Brown admitted frustration after he was seen slamming his helmet on the bench during the game, stating that the offense needs to focus more on passing plays to improve.
Despite the drama, the Eagles’ strong performance gives them plenty of time to address any lingering issues.
McNabb and Owens Weigh in on Eagles Drama
The rumored conflict between Brown and Hurts has also reignited controversy between two Eagles legends, Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens.
Former quarterback McNabb shared his thoughts on the situation Monday during an interview with 94WIP Sports Radio.
“It’s two grown men. If there’s an issue, address it directly,” McNabb said. “Don’t go through the media[…]because that just amplifies it and makes it public.”
This statement drew a sharp response from Owens, sparking further debate about how the Eagles should handle their current situation.
