The Georgia Bulldogs still have a shot at securing another national championship despite underwhelming production from their receiving corps. With Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers now in the NFL, Georgia’s offense hasn’t quite had the same explosiveness in 2024.
Head coach Kirby Smart is determined to address this heading into the 2025 season. After an epic eight-overtime rivalry showdown against Georgia Tech, the two Peach State programs might now be competing off the field for a top-tier receiver.
Georgia Tech standout Eric Singleton Jr. is currently ranked as the top wide receiver expected to enter the transfer portal by On3.com. According to Pete Nakos from On3, Georgia is among the leading contenders for Singleton’s services.
“On Monday, Georgia Tech star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. entered the Transfer Portal,” Nakos wrote. “Many see Singleton as the premier wide receiver target available early in this portal cycle. Auburn, Florida, and Georgia are viewed as top contenders for Singleton.”
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound receiver recorded 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns during his sophomore campaign with Georgia Tech in 2024, bringing his total to nine touchdowns over two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
