Bo Nix is again up for a league-wide honor.
Nix has been nominated for the NFL’s Rookie of the Week award following Denver’s 34-18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
This is the second time this season that Nix has been nominated for the weekly award, as he also earned a nomination following Denver’s Week 3 win over Tampa Bay. Nix is among six nominees for the Week 5 honor.
Nix completed 19-of-27 pass attempts for 206 yards in Denver’s Week 5 win over the Raiders. The Oregon product added two touchdowns and a 1-yard rushing touchdown, marking the first game in his young career with multiple touchdown passes.
Nix posted career bests in completion percentage, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns and passer rating in the win.
Denver’s rookie quarterback led a drive late in the first half to set up a field goal that gave the Broncos a lead at halftime and jump-started 24 unanswered offensive points. In the second half, Nix had a hand in all three touchdowns that helped seal the victory in the divisional matchup.
With Sunday’s victory, Nix became the first rookie quarterback in franchise history to earn three consecutive wins.
“He played well,” Head Coach Sean Payton said Monday. “He used his feet, went through his progressions, threw the ball well, got it down the field, took the underneath throws. He handled the two-minute again. That’s happened a number of times now, where we’ve been able to get some points at the end of the half. He had good command of what we were doing, and I was pleased.”
Washington’s Jayden Daniels, Chicago’s Caleb Williams, Jacksonville’s Brian Thomas Jr., Las Vegas’ Brock Bowers and the New York Giants’ Tyrone Tracy Jr. are also nominated for this week’s award.
