BREAKING: Green Bay star is suspended by the Packers to exacerbate the chaotic situation.

Romeo Doubs has been absent from practice since Wednesday. Last night, Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber revealed that Doubs opted not to practice due to dissatisfaction with his role in the passing game.

In response, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Green Bay Packers have suspended Doubs for one game “for conduct detrimental to the team.” He will not be traveling with the team and will miss the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams.

This situation is significant. It confirms Huber’s report about Doubs skipping practice and raises serious questions about his future with the team. How can he rebuild the Packers’ trust after failing to show up? Huber also noted that Doubs didn’t inform the team in advance about his absence.

“Concerned for Doubs’s well-being, team representatives went to his home to check on him,” Huber reported.

Packers suspend wide receiver Romeo Doubs for one game

This marks the second time in under a year that the Packers have suspended one of their players for a game. Last December, they issued a one-game suspension to Jaire Alexander after he nearly disrupted a coin toss during a game against the Carolina Panthers.

Suspending Doubs seems justified given the Sports Illustrated report. If he chose to skip practice out of frustration regarding his role in the offense, the Packers had little choice but to act. They need to maintain a standard for all players and cannot permit someone to decide when to show up while still expecting to play as if nothing is wrong.

Hopefully, the two sides can resolve the issue with Doubs getting back on track in Week 6. The concern is that this becomes a bigger issue beyond this week’s game.

We don’t know the full details, but it’s surprising nonetheless. Doubs has played the most snaps of Packers receivers this year and led the team in targets last season.

The Packers will have to win without him this week.
