BREAKING: Packers Vs Rams Wednesday Injury Report As Six Players Did Not Practice

Three players were back at practice for the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday, marking the team’s initial preparations for their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Cornerback Carrington Valentine, who had been sidelined for the past two weeks with an ankle injury and whose absence was felt during the loss to the Minnesota Vikings, returned to the practice field. He had limited participation last Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday and was inactive for the game.

First-round pick Jordan Morgan, who had shared right guard duties with Sean Rhyan in the first two games but missed the last two due to a shoulder injury, also returned to practice. This week may serve as a ramp-up period for him after his time off.

Both players had limited participation.

“It would be huge to have Valentine back in the lineup,” said coach Matt LaFleur. “It would strengthen our overall depth, and I believe he has a lot of potential. We’re really excited about the progress he made during the offseason.

“Even though he missed most of the preseason and his absence isn’t ideal, he was performing well, and we’re eager to have him back.”

Additionally, defensive tackle Jonathan Ford, who injured his calf in the preseason finale, has been designated for return from injured reserve. A seventh-round pick in 2022, he spent his first two seasons on the practice squad.

Six players did not practice:

Receiver Christian Watson, who sustained an ankle injury during the first half of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, he has a “mild” high-ankle sprain and is “unlikely” to be placed on injured reserve. LaFleur also indicated that Watson will not go on IR.

Given how serious the injury appeared at the time, the Packers were fortunate to avoid a more severe situation.

“Just talking to him today, I think we got lucky,” LaFleur remarked.

– Cornerback Jaire Alexander was inactive due to quad and groin injuries during the game against the Vikings.

– Left guard Elgton Jenkins did not practice because of a knee injury. When asked about his condition, he replied, “Good.”

– Tight end Luke Musgrave has recorded five catches for only 22 yards, with a longest gain of 6. After a promising rookie season, he has been one of the major disappointments in the first four games, playing just 108 snaps—less than half of Tucker Kraft’s 227.

– Defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt is one of only three players in the NFL with a tackle for loss in each of the first four games. He suffered an ankle injury with about nine minutes left in the game on Sunday.

“I think he’s made significant progress from Week 1 to Week 3, as we’d expect from the rest of our defense as they settle in,” said defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley on Thursday. “You can see his impact in the passing game, but he’s also been strong in the run game—his tackles for loss, movement, speed, athleticism, and penetration all make it challenging for the offensive line.

“He really makes it tough for them. We have a mix of big and quick guys in the middle, and he brings a blend of both. I’m a big fan of his work ethic and attitude, and I expect to see him improve each week.”

If Wyatt is unable to play this week, Colby Wooden would likely get his first defensive snaps of the season.

– Veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark participated in pre-practice stretching but did not practice, having been limited last week due to a toe injury.

While the Packers are dealing with injuries at the start of the week, the Rams have also faced significant setbacks this season. Top receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua will not play this week, among other issues.
