In the 2024 season, the Denver Broncos are beginning to click, winning two straight games over the Buccaneers and Jets.
The squad will return to practice on Wednesday as they prepare for their home game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
They won’t have running back Tyler Badie, though, as he sustained a potentially dangerous injury in Week 4.
The Broncos did not lose time in assessing their alternatives following Badie’s setback.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, Salvon Ahmed and Elijah Dotson both worked out with the team.
The Broncos moved quickly on Tuesday, adding former Miami Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed to their practice squad.
Taking swift action, the Broncos signed former Miami Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed to their practice squad on Tuesday.
To accommodate Ahmed, the team released wide receiver Kaden Davis, who had recently joined the practice squad. The current running back lineup features Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, Blake Watson, and the injured Badie, whose future is uncertain.
With Badie potentially headed for Injured Reserve, the Broncos are looking for additional depth behind Williams and McLaughlin. Ahmed, a 25-year-old who was let go by the Dolphins in August, will initially join the practice squad, but his long-term role with the team is unclear. If the primary running backs remain healthy, Ahmed could again end up on waivers. As the Raiders approach, Denver’s updated backfield will face a significant challenge in pursuit of a third consecutive win.
